Things From Home I Miss

THINGS FROM HOME I MISS. A LOT.

  • Mums & Daddio, and my family all being nearby.
  • Ernie, Lucy, Sparky, and sometimes even Sophie. ("Hello, Newman.")
  • Parking in a garage
  • A really nice, unshared, multiple-settings, washer and dryer
  • Garbage disposal
  • Dishwasher
  • Saturday night dinners with the family
  • Counter space in the kitchen!!!
  • Not having to search for a parking spot whenever I come home
  • No ridiculously loud teenybopper skaters gathering below my bedroom window every night
  • Mums' homecooked dinners
  • Coming up with new "one-man off-Broadway production" titles to describe Chaz's current moods and appearances
  • Shopping at Meijers with Mums and Daddio
  • Shopping at Kohls with Mums and Grandma
  • Visiting Grandpa and Grandma in the evening
  • Reverse osmosis water
  • Flat Top Grill
  • Continual amusement at Daddio & Ernie's "best friendship," and Daddio's perpetual favoring of Ernie over all the other dogs
  • The many laugh-til-you-cry moments: going through Daddio's "basket o' treasure" with Alex and Mums; Mums attempting to throw a foam cooler up the basement stairs to Daddio; Chaz losing the ability to form words at the dinner table and instead sort of squawking and sticking his tongue out; Mums' frequent inability to use correct words when she got tired; Daddio's never-ending fount o' coffee (and the dozen coffee mugs scattered throughout the house, and Mums' gathering and cleaning thereof); the nightly battle of Lucy versus Daddio for the right-hand side of the bed
  • Playing Jeopardy! during dinner with Mums & Daddio
  • Enough storage space to allow stocking-up of a frequently-used item when it was on sale at the store
  • Bigger closets
  • Weekend lunches at Grandpa & Grandma's house
  • Water softener softened-water in which to shower
  • Toilets that actuallly flushed. Every time you flushed them.
  • No sewer gas smell, even when it rained

Perhaps I'll add more at a later date. :-)
