My mom is a caregiver.
She was a caregiver as a mother while we kids were growing up. She was a caregiver for my dad when he was recovering from his accident. She was a caregiver to my great-aunt Marcella when she was unable to live completely independently due to Alzheimer’s. She was a caregiver to my grandmother through her health and strength challenges.
She is still very much a Giver of Great Care to her family. She is my rock, my safety net, a safe place to fall when I don’t know where else to turn. She encourages me, supports me, helps me stay strong and carry on. She is my best friend, and she has been my caregiver more times than I can count in my life… and probably will be many times more.

Thank you, Mums, for all the care you’ve given, and that you still give, to me, to the family, and to those around you.

Today I am grateful for two friends who at different times cared for me when I didn’t have the strength to do it myself.
