I’ve been negligent in posting some much-deserved congrats to the fellas in my family. So, without further ado, let’s get to dolling out the props, shall we?
CHAZ:
After turning in a phenomenal performance on his ACTs (e.g., he missed one–ONE–question in the advanced geometry section, if I’m getting that title right), he managed to knock the SATs outta the proverbial park as well, nailing the math sections in both the ACT and SAT to the tune of, like, the 99th percentile. Ridiculous. Absurd. And damn good. Congrats, Chaz!
ALEX:
My “little” brother became the first of all the siblings, cousins, etc. in his generation (yes–in this family, not in the world, for you nit-picking sorts) to become a homeowner, closing on his condominium on March 1. I’ve been to visit his new homestead, and even through my perpetual coughing, fever and exhaustion, it was absolutely beautiful. Great living space, great layout, beautiful views. “Sir,” “spud,” “Lexy” is so grown-up! Congrats, Lex!
SAM:
Since, approximately, the utterance of his first words, my cousin Sam has been a natural actor and storyteller, creating full stories and tales for which he would act out the voices and mannerisms of each character. Developing an insatiable hunger for knowledge about history, especially relating to sociopolitic characteristics of different eras and global conflicts, also prompted him to author works–short stories, poems, and the like–best characterized as historic fiction. He has recently employed both of these talents to great success, landing a lead comic role in his high school play, and racking up a slew of big wins in his radio announcing competitions in his high school speech team. He recently qualified for state competition, and came in 3rd at Sectionals. Congrats, Sam!
Hearty applause and accolades to all three of my talented relatives. I eagerly await your next moves and future successes!
