I use Hootsuite for Twitter for myself and clients, Yahoo for mail (simply bc moving everyone is a drag), Ping.fm for posting status updates to Twitter, FB and LinkedIn at once, GOOGLE DOCS (everything is in this unless it needs to be perfectly pretty), Google Reader, Stat Counter (for checking on my 10 blog readers!). Pandora Radio if I don't need to focus too much!

Love the Monday Mashups! Keep 'em coming.

This is a really helpful post. I work with a lot of people launching new businesses and/or growing their companies and I'm going to point them all not just to this post, but to your site in general - really wonderful!

thanks,
Pam

I often have Pandora or NPR or some kind of audio/music site open -- or I'm playing an audio from somebody's session, or a video, or something. I'm not really "multi-tasking" but if something interesting comes up I usually notice and will rewind a bit and listen.

My Pandora choices map to what I'm doing -- "Queen" for creative, "Piano Jazz" for reflective, "BlueGrass" for getting in touch with my inner Southerner.

And, of course, Snagit is always there. And Skype. But I guess that's a given.

Marissa:

Great post. I really enjoyed reading this list and I am especially intrigued by Freckle. I know I need to keep better track of my time and that looks like a good tool. I'll also have to check Basecamp. My most used tabs are usually open to Twitter, Outlook (when I'm working on my home computer), Windows Media Player, Firefox, and either Word or Excel. I am also intrigued by all of the Google tools out there which are ideal when I'm using a computer that isn't my home computer. Thanks for a very useful post!

Awesome!

1. I have gmail open all the time. But need to cut it down to - email twice a day only. Seems impossible though :p

2. And then I have Todoist.com open all the time. I use that instead of Basecamp. Because its free and I'm cheap that way. Although Basecamp seems better - moving everything from todoist to basecamp or any other service seems a lot of work...

3. Tweetdeck

Thats about it actually. I only have 3 things open all the time.
