Took Le iPod to Le Best Buy this evening, where a GeekSquad employee bearing an odd resemblance to Michael J. Fox circa Back to the Future I informed me that my baby had to be sent away for two to three weeks for repair and possible replacement. This, naturally, makes me sad. It’s amazing how quickly I get spoiled by certain things: having an iPod so I never have to worry about radio (and its incessant commercials, and stupidly unfunny DJs, ugh) or CDs, for instance. But hopefully in three weeks, I’ll have a functioning iPod.
In other news… my t-shirts from TelevisionWithoutPity.com arrived today: one is black and has what appears to the The Daily Show’s logo on it, but instead of saying “The Daily Show” it says “The Fake News” and then below that it says “is all I need.” I love it. Because it’s true. The Daily Show plus Jay Leno & Conan O’Brien’s monologues each evening, and you’ve got more actual news and truth than you’ll get in a whole day’s worth of CNN-watching.
Tomorrow is my Exit Interview at The Firm. I’m less nervous than I am bummed, really. I’m just not ready for this job to be winding down. I am going to miss my co-workers. Genuinely miss these people. (I just hope they miss me too… and offer me a job so I’ll come back!)
I have it on good authority that N8 actually managed to force himself to stay in Best Buy (one of his least favorite places on earth…which makes him warped, but still) long enough to look at computer bags for me. And if you knew how irritated N8 gets when he’s in Best Buy, you’d understand how very sweet that little gesture is. He wasn’t successful in locating a bag for me, but while I was in Best Buy here in Fort Wayne (bidding farewell to my iPod), I found the Swiss Gear Synergy Pack. Oooooh, me likey (ref. Sex and the City, episode where Carrie’s a model). It costs $79.99 at BB. So I’m going to see if I can find it anywhere else cheaper. Probably not. But it’s worth looking into.
I’ve got CDs to burn and a resume to update so I can hand it in at my Exit Interview tomorrow.
